The Challenge

Hey guys!

Remember the other day when I said I have some exciting fitness news to post? I’ve decided to train for and run my very first half marathon!

The motivation?

A. I’ve been saying I’ve wanted to run one for what seems like forever

B. I finally found someone to run with me

C. Fitness magazine posted a Half Marathon Training Guide & I took that as a sign

I’m planning on starting the 8 week program on March 22nd, the Monday after I return from Vancouver. I figured it will be warm enough to run outside by then. I’m not cut out for treadmills!

Then, if everything goes to plan, I’ll be running the Northface Endurance Challenge’s Bear Mountain Half Marathon. It’s a pretty tough first race but think it will be a lot of fun! This will be me.

I noticed a lot of bloggers are posting March challenges. Mine will be to begin training on time and stick with it! I better because I’ll be quite mad if I waste $65. If anything, that will be some motivation. I hate wasting anything! Also, I’m telling all you guys so it’ll be pretty embarrassing if I drop out.

Yay, you don’t know how excited I am!

Back to the present, I have a pretty crazy day today. I’m working at a place an hour away from 8am til 1pm and then at my normal job from 3-9. As you can guess, I wrote this post last night. I don’t remember the last time I’ve woken up before 7am! Let’s hope I make it though :)

Question: What are your goals for March? Or for whenever! And if there are any runners out there, I wouldn’t mind some training tips!

That’s great! I might also run a half marathon this year but I’m not sure if I’ll have time for proper training. Sadly though I have no training tips. I ran a 10m run last year without much preparation (bad mistake) and I’ve sworn to myself that I’ll stick to a training schedule for this year’s 10m. :) Please let me know if you have any half marathon tips :) .

    Congrats!! That’s so exciting.
I’ve been really frustrated with my goals because “things” keep on coming up that are keeping me from training… (old injuries. booo)
Good luck, I have a feeling you’ll do great!
