Good afternoon!
Hope everyone is having a lovely salad Saturday. Gosh, I really am in a salad phase, it’s on my mind 24-7!
This morning’s breakfast consisted of an oldie but goodie cereal, Shredded Wheat. Made from 100% natural whole grain wheat, it has 6 grams of fiber and protein for each 170 calorie 1-cup serving.

Its a plain cereal so it works great as a base with added toppings! Today I put in:
- banana slices
- craisins
- macadamia nuts
- almond milk
- Artisana coconut butter

Then I went downstairs for my weekly mother-daughter workout. I did 45 minutes on the stationary bike, followed by 15 minutes of abs while Mom walked on the treadmill. I had burned 367 calories by the end and wanted to go for an even 400.
I went outside and did 5 minutes of alternating jump rope and jumping jacks, ending with a few seconds of high knees. It was a fun mini workout and when I ended my calorie burn was at 401! Perfect
Who says you need a gym membership for a good, varied workout?
Lunch was a variation of theĀ Harvest Salad from my Betty Crocker Whole Grains cookbook.

It included craisins, apples, corn, carrots, and barley. I opened what I thought was a can of corn, not noticing it was creamed corn so it was a very creamy, sweet salad!

With an iced hazelnut coffee.

The plan for today is to pack for Aruba, one week from today I’ll be on my way there! Mom and I are going on a shopping day Wednesday to get some last minute vacay clothes and I just found out there’s a Whole Foods next to the mall we’re going to. SO EXCITED! I haven’t been to one since Pittsburgh 2 months ago. Anddd, even more exciting, I think it’s a new one!
Now I’m going to go spend some time sunning on the deck with my new friend

I think he’s a North American tree frog or something because he has really sticky feet! Like me, I think he’s waiting for our pool to open. Sorry frog, 2 more weeks!
See you all later

I also spent quite a bit of time making it pretty. I don’t know why though because it’s one of the only mornings where I’m going to be rushed for time and I end up spending 40 minutes making breakfast! I enjoyed eating it though
Heavenly!
