Thanks so much for the nice comments about my cat earlier, they really made my day!

Wish I had some good news to share though.

Healthy Choice Sweet Asian Potstickers: Review
After taking some time to cook a good breakfast this morning, I didn’t have much time to put together lunch. Lets face it, sometimes you just have to grab and go! As quick foods aren’t usually the healthiest, I’m always on the lookout for healthy options. That’s why I was intrigued when I saw that Healthy Choice came out with a line of all natural entrees, with 4 vegetarian options! According to their website, each meal is:
- high in fiber for digestive health
- includes antioxidants such as lycopene and vitamins A and C
- low in saturated fat and cholesterol for heart health
My Mom picked up two for me to try - Sweet Asian Potstickers and Pumpkin Squash Ravioli.

Today I chose the higher calorie one, the potstickers, since I knew it was all I’d be eating at work. After looking at the box, I was happy to see it’s made with whole grains and sesame oil.

What I Didn’t Like
- There’s no sidestepping the fact that it is a frozen dinner and therefore the sodium is going to be through the roof (600mg)
- 19 grams of sugar!
- 5mg of Cholesterol (I aim for 0 since I used to have fairly high levels)
- I feel like every Asian TV dinner is put in the same sauce – way too gingery and sweet
- Too much sauce
What I Did Like
- Could smell the sesame oil while it was cooking, yum!
- I could pronounce everything on the ingredient list.
- The potstickers were filled with vegetables, tofu, and bulgur
- 8g of protein and 6g of fiber, not bad!
- Only 1g of the 4.5g of fat is saturated

Would I buy it again? Probably not. I just wasn’t a big fan of the sauce and felt they could have used a lot less. But I am excited to try the pumpkin squash ravioli next. I’ve come to the conclusion that Asian cuisine is best made in a kitchen.
I worked til 7pm then went over to the boyfriend’s house. His Mom had just finished making tortellini so in order to have dinner at a normal hour, I made myself a bowl.

The broccoli wasn’t ready until after I had finished already (I scarfed that plate down!), so I had some afterward.

And with all this ice cream talk going on, I made myself a froyo dessert. I found these at the store the other day:

And had a banana along side of it.

Pretty good but wished the strawberries could somehow defrost more before the Froyo melted. Honestly, the banana was the best part!
Trivia Tuesday
If you answered B this morning, you’re correct! Italo Marchioni, a street ice cream vendor, began selling cones from his cart in 1896 in New York. Figures the ice cream cone originated in my city! He was issued a patent in 1904 – several months before the 1904 St. Louis Fair, which has often claimed to be the birthplace of the cone.
Fun fact: The United States is the world’s largest consumer of ice cream, at 23 quarts per person each year.

I’m making an early run to Stop & Shop tomorrow to find a new food for this week so I don’t fall behind on the New Foods challenge! Any ideas? Otherwise I just plan on walking around until I find something but me in a grocery store without a list is not a good idea… it could very well turn into an all day trip!

The coffee in the background is not mine, just part of someone’s breakroom mess!

Look at them before harvest. They got so big they’re actually busting out of their home!!
